“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”
John 10:27 NIV

He didn’t say my sheep see me and follow me. He said they listened to His voice. This tells me that I am to depend on my hearing rather than my sight. (FAITH)

There are opportunities all around me, but I’m waiting patiently to hear from God to take the next step. I’m looking forward to what God has for me at this point in my life. At the same time, I am aware that other voices are trying to distract me from His will, including my own. I must choose to listen to His over any different voice.

The second half of His statement says He knows His sheep, and the sheep follow Him. God doesn’t allow wolves in clothing to get over on Him. He knows the motives of our hearts. In conjunction with knowing our reasons, God says they follow Him. He doesn’t want us to just “talk that talk.” He wants us to “walk it like we talk it.”

Learning to follow God is essential in our journey to eternal life. This means that there are times of waiting and times of moving.

During waiting times, we must listen for His voice to know what to do next. We should worship while we wait because God has already prepared the path. As we wait, God prepares our hearts, minds, and spirits for the journey. Praise and worship allow us to fellowship and stay connected with God as He actively works in us while we are in His “waiting room.”

During moving times, we must follow Him and not make our own path. Nor should we be led in the wrong direction by distractions of the enemy. The enemy CAN NOT destroy what God has for us, but He CAN distract us from becoming who we were meant to be.

GLOwUP is Growth, Liberation, Ownership while Under Pressure. This week I challenge you to GLO UP whether you’re in a period of waiting or a period of moving.
